Looking for a down-to-earth type of bed and breakfast? The Mary Geasland GUEST HOUSE/B&B offers just that kind of stay. Guests are not in the family home, but they are in the detached former orchid greenhouse, now the Glasshouse, or they stay in what was once an upstairs garage apartment now called The Apartment. Mary moved to Tahlequah at age 3. After graduating with a college degree in Home Economics, she married and moved away but returned to her family home in the mid 1960s. Mary and her husband, Dr. Bill Geasland, raised their three children on West Morgan Street. The late Bill Geasland was a longtime dentist in Tahlequah. Mary has found her calling as hostess and owner of The Mary Geasland GUEST HOUSE/B&B. She opened Tahlequah, Oklahoma's first licensed bed and breakfast in 1991. She was closed for a while, then remodeled and re-opened on April 18, 2007. In the first four years after reopening, guests came from 26 different countries and 36 different states plus Washington, D.C. Mary believes that personal attention is one of the big differences between a bed and breakfast and a hotel or motel. For example, Mary asks, "Have you hugged a doorman lately?"
